Prosciutto Wrapped Pears

Carolin is always ready for impromptu guests and can pull appies out like nobody’s business. So, it's not surprising she is responsible for another entry in the appie category.  These are quite large so you really don’t need more than one or two per person.  Again, quite easy but, at the same time, a real showstopper.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Cut 4 pears in sixths and take out the core
  2. Mix a small log of goat cheese with chopped basil and place a tsp of cheese mixture where the core was
  3. Wrap each pear/cheese in a piece of prosciutto
  4. Grill (BBQ or under the broiler) for about 5 minutes
  5. Put on a serving dish and drizzle with a balsamic reduction

TIPS & HINTS

Don’t have goat cheese? Substitute blue!  Add a preserve under the prosciutto – anything goes.
